Breaking Through to a New Reality

It may seem like just another Sunday in Europe, but a very special group of people have gathered in Rome this weekend to accelerate the positive evolution of humanity.
There are many misconceptions about what Kabbalah really is, but at the end of the day, it’s simply the most effective method we have in the world for generating positive energy.
The following is an excerpt from the last lecture of the conference with the world’s foremost Kabbalist, Michael Laitman. The lecture was followed by a two hour workshop on how to implement these concepts in our daily life:
The wisdom of Kabbalah is not speaking about something theoretical but rather about people who revealed the Creator — the laws of nature, how evolution works — with human interference and without. Just like any other science or area of research, Kabbalists have researched these subjects and developed tools for measuring progress. So we should try to hear their recommendations about how to implement the wisdom in a practical manner.
The difference between this science and others, is that here a person researches him/herself. The first thing we need to understand is that what is happening in reality is not outside of us, but rather that reality exists entirely inside of us. We have a special quality that’s called a ‘will to receive’ for ourselves. This will to receive develops slightly so a person feels the reality changing around them — evolving and developing. But all this is actually happening inside the person. Our focus is inward and this is how we perceive reality, even though it appears to be outside of us.
Kabbalists discovered the perception of reality, and from there continued to research how this system works: How can I change my inner attributes, and through that, the reality around me will change? I have a very special opportunity before me, that by changing valves inside myself, I see reality changing. Not by seeing all kinds of things in this static world here, but I begin to reveal what is above this world, more superior phenomena, and it’s all by changing my attributes.
So I need to learn how many knobs there are ,which way to turn them — the relations between them. Kabbalists are people who began to research this and discovered an entire science. They discovered that we only have five knobs. They called them Keter, Hochma, Bina, Tifferet, and Malchut. When they started to turn them they discovered that they each have five more elements, and then another five — but they are all connected. When you finish turning all the knobs you reach the end of correction. They called it the wisdom of Kabbalah, how to perceive the real reality around us. This realm is blocked to us, until we discover the wisdom of Kabbalah.
This is what Kabbalah books are filled with, explanations about the structure of reality, and demonstrating how interdependent the whole system is.
The Kabbalists want everyone to have this ability to open up reality. Apart from attaining these phenomena, their writings explained what a person needs to do to begin becoming a Kabbalist. They explained that we need to connect. Because all the phenomena above our current perception of reality, is all attained through a special connection. Special in that I must connect with others above my corporeal nature, which is what differentiates us. We need to connect above human nature in such a way that there will be no differences between us. Not just pretty words, but rather removing all the gaps that there are between us. Completely. We must reach this. They wrote articles about how to attain this. We go through phases that are called exile (galut). This is why we learn from Rabash *— a special teacher who wrote for beginners in a language they could understand.
So the wisdom of Kabbalah is divided into two. What a person needs to do while still existing with corporeal attributes. And what he or she receives when entering the spiritual world — and the connection between these two states. When he/she starts to change his knobs inside, in accordance with that he begins to discover. Then the books of Kabbalah become a guideline for him.
But in the meantime we are in the first phase where we need to attain the first point of connection. There is much work here, between us, and in attracting more friends. The work can be divided among 10 , 100, 10K or a million. Then of course the work will be easier. The greatness of the Creator is attained in greatness. So we need to promote the wisdom of Kabbalah and be happy that new friends are joining us. This makes our work easier as well.
What we are doing is good for all of humanity, since we are promoting connection, love and harmony.
Kabbalah is a practical science, not something in the sky. People attained it by going against the corporeal ego. They reached attainment of the upper world and perception of reality — the current reality and the higher one. This is not philosophy but rather a practical science. We have no other science or system that comes close to it. Because here every stage requires great effort and implementation. The Kabbalah books are instruction manuals.
We have no choice. We must connect. No one likes it. It is not easy or pleasant for anyone. We actually hate it. This is human nature. Therefore we must act against human nature. We don’t need to destroy our will to receive. We need to respect it and go above it. We need to reach a higher level while maintaining this world. We want to reveal the upper world. Where the commands are coming from, how this trickles down to our world and manages us.
One person on their own can only feel the current reality. Even if he/she is a gifted genius and highly intelligent. If we want to feel the higher layer of reality— this is only possible through connection of people. Precisely at the point of contact — this is where we penetrate the upper reality. That he feels me and I feel him — when we lose our individual identity we form something common. This is where we see the upper level of reality. We need to approach it and leap to the spiritual level.
From the first spiritual degree we’ll understand many things in our world. Then life will be easier, and also more difficult. Because after that there are other stages — all the way to 125, where concessions are much greater. We will get through them. But the main thing is to penetrate the first stage. That’s why it’s called a barrier.

*Rav Laitman was the disciple and personal assistant of Rabbi Baruch Shalom HaLevi Ashlag (the Rabash), the firstborn and successor of Rabbi Yehuda Leib HaLevi Ashlag, known as Baal HaSulam (Owner of the Ladder) for authoring the Sulam (Ladder) commentary on The Book of Zohar. For twelve years, Rav Laitman devotedly studied with the Rabash, and absorbed from him the teachings of Baal HaSulam.
Baal HaSulam is considered the successor of the Holy Ari, author of The Tree of Life. Yehuda Ashlag also paved the way for our generation to be admitted into Kabbalah.
