I woke up this morning in Israel, devastated to hear of yet another shooting in Florida. It immediately made me think of something my teen daughter wrote the other day, asking why there is so much suffering and sadness in the world today. And honestly, I was speechless.

This time it wasn’t a night club or a place of worship like Pittsburgh. The latest tragedy took place in a yoga studio of all places, a place where people come to relax and experience some genuine human harmony. The two victims, were identified by police early Saturday as Dr. Nancy Van Vessem, 61, and Maura Binkley, 21, who had been shot by Scott Paul Beierle, 40.

It should come as no surprise that Scott Beierle is a former soldier, who has been unemployed since 2013. (Source: Scott Beierle: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know)

Why Do These Shootings Keep Happening?

We are living in a time when the human ego has excess energy, that is not being directed properly. But since it must erupt in some manner, any individuals that are even slightly unbalanced, are taking matters into their own hands. Let’s face it, there are millions of others with the exact same conditions who could potentially erupt in the near future.

As someone who had lost two sisters by the age of 20, it is extremely upsetting for me to hear about any unnecessary loss of life like this. The younger victim Maura Binkley, a student at Florida State University, was shot down in her prime. The older victim, Dr. Vessem, was from the faculty of Florida State University and had a long track record of dedication to her community. She was also Jewish.

Dr. Vessem served as the chief medical director for Capital Health Plan. In a statement, the company said: ‘As CHP’s longtime chief medical director, Nancy has been a guiding, visionary force in our daily work to serve the wellness and health care needs of thousands of families in this community. ‘Her dedication, caring, leadership, humanity, and experience made her one of the most respected, inspiring, and accomplished medical professionals in the state and country.’

How We Can Prevent More Tragedies

As a society, we must understand what we are really dealing with here, and how a correct perspective can help prevent further tragedies.

Here are the facts we must begin to face together:

1) There are thousands of other disgruntled humans with shooting abilities.

2) The universe is pressuring us to progress to the next stage of our evolution. As long as we continue to play dumb about this process, we will continue to suffer.

3) Evolution will keep propelling us forward, whether we agree with it or not.

So once again, we find ourselves mourning beautiful, innocent individuals, who were cut down in the prime of life. Once again we will make a note of the number of victims and add them to the statistics. Once again we will appeal to the government to make changes to gun laws. Once again, we will upgrade security measures and appoint more guards.

But none of the above will prevent the next incident from occurring.

The only thing that can prevent further tragedies of this nature is by us understanding the process we are being put through. How Mother Nature is resolved to bring us back to the harmony and interdependence we see in the natural world.

Plants and animals only take what they need to survive and don’t intentionally harm others. We humans on the other hand, take far more than we need to survive and actually harm other human beings with our negative thoughts.

Up until now nature gave us a break, and as long as we were not actually harming others out in the open, pretty much left us to our own devices. But today, that is no longer enough. Today, if you are not consciously contributing positive energy to society, then you are considered a negative element. So we are all at fault here, with no exceptions. Because let’s face it, we are mostly focused on our own benefit throughout the day, and that is perfectly natural.

It is perfectly natural for less evolved humans to go about their day thinking the they have the whole world at their disposal to take advantage of. Yet clearly, we can no longer afford the luxury of this ignorance.

The truth is that we are the most sophisticated generation to ever inhabit the earth, and we need to zoom out to the larger picture, to see that we have a much greater purpose here.

Our true purpose for being in this world is to learn how to come back together as one, as we were in the past.

Why is there always a Jewish element in these disasters? Because it is up to the Jews to help the world reconnect at a higher level above the human ego. This is our spiritual mission and Mother Nature will not calm down until we begin spreading the method of connection with the entire world.

As the world’s foremost Kabbalist, Michael Laitman, has been saying for many years: There is nowhere to escape to anymore. The only thing we can escape from is the human ego that has enslaved us. Israel has the method for teaching the world how to direct the human ego toward a more sustainable path. All we have to do is willingly agree with this process, and we’ll see the shootings and other problems in our world subside very quickly.

According to the great sages throughout history, we must all bow to one universal law and that is ‘Love Thy Neighbor as Yourself”. Since we have filled our lives with so many examples of violence and aggression, this does not come naturally to us in this day and age. But we can recondition ourselves to remember what’s important.

We can transform hostility and hopelessness into love and concern for others. Humans are the only part of nature that can preempt and plan for a better future. We can control our destiny simply by becoming aware of the big plans nature has in store for us.
